diopucci baisemain

They had spent the night out, as it was the last before Pucci was to return to Florida again.  The Egyptian air was pleasant at night, and they strolled through one of Cairo’s botanical gardens, after hours of course but when did rules ever stop Dio from doing what he wanted.  The moonlight shining through the clouds and the smell of the flowers from the huge plants Pucci had never seen before seemed to cast everything in a gleam that seemed of surreal beauty.

They walked side by side in silence, not really needing to say anything.  And this was fine with Pucci.  He felt very at ease with Dio, and sharing silence with him was somehow comforting.

They walked for what felt like no time at all but was probably much longer, and at the arch of the entrance they stood for a bit looking back out at the ciry.  Dio broke the silence first.

“Cairo has 6,852,000 residents, did you know that Pucci?”

“No, I didn’t.  That’s a lot though, isn’t it?” Pucci answered, staring up at Dio’s face, which was a bit obscured by shadow.  Noticing Pucci looking, he turned to smile at the young priest.

“It is.  One of the most populated cities of Egypt.  So many humans, and so many lives.  6,852,000 lives are in this city.  However,” Dio paused to reach down and gently lift Pucci’s hand.

“Tomorrow it will be missing one life of great importance,” Dio raised Pucci’s hand to his lips, giving it a soft kiss before looking back up at Pucci, who’s breath had caught short.  Dio grinned and released his hand, enjoying watching Pucci become a bit flustered.

“To your safe return home, and eventual return to my side,” Dio said, staring at the lights of the city.  Pucci clutched the hand Dio had kissed, and said nothing.
