Apparently they are releasing new episodes, but only to those who backed the kickstarter, and have explicitly forbidden them from releasing them to everyone else until they can somehow get more funding for the show.

The reason they’re releasing episodes 5 & 6 and the rest of the episodes to the those who backed the kickstarter is because they PAID for EARLY ACCESS. So yes they get it before everyone else and being told not to put it online for free because that would be STEALING. Why are you even mad about that?

They have a small crew who work all by hand and to Natasha’s (the creator’s) particular specifications. They rely on ad revenue to keep production going (MANY kickstarters have the problem that things take longer or are more expensive than originally planned. you know what many projects from big networks/studios have the same issues.)

From what I can tell, the videos will be available to the public when they’re all finished (possibly to avoid long hiatuses? <- tho that’s just my theory) and the episodes will be burnt to DVD (one of the reward levels for backers) and I can’t imagine those wouldn’t also be sold to the public?

For good measure have an update I got a mere twelve days ago about episode 7

TLDR: It’s not scamming people to not want your costly hard work given out for free by anyone with internet access. This is a cool cartoon, and production crew is not “shady” or “shitty” for dealing with very typical production issues.

Bee and Puppycat is a cute cartoon and if you really can’t wait for more episodes go read the comic, its super cute, and issue 9 came out like two weeks ago.
