Why do police have quotas? If a doctor went around intentionally sneezing on people to get more patients, that would be seen as a travesty to their profession. But police, can sit around and wait for someone to turn on a red light or commit other mundane ‘offenses’ because they have quotas to meet. Quotas are all the proof we need that policing is not a public service vocation; it’s a business and a subsidiary of Wall Street.

The Brown Family Statement stresses a campaign to start getting body cameras on cops. Hit up whoismyrepresentative.com to find your senators and write to them.

Let’s get on this and make a difference, guys.

This I can actually get behind. Body cams make police safer on their job, and they prevent police brutality.

If anyone is having trouble composing a message, here is what I sent that you can use as a template:

Hello,

My name is [___]. I have been a resident of this district for a very long time.

In light of recent developments on the Michael Brown case, it is a necessity for all of the cops within the district to begin wearing body cameras. Not only does this protect citizens against corrupt cops, but it also protects the cops from danger and provides indiscriminate proof for criminal cases. It allows there to be no doubt or question about testimony and crime scenes. Body cameras provide an unbiased view of what happens.

I know that they are expensive but, as said before, they are truly needed in this time.

Thank you.
