Over Heaven is vile, Nisio Isin writes Dio completely out of character and paints him as a textbook misogynist who sees all women as either mothers or whores.  The entire plot’s built around this.  If you love the nuance and fluidity Araki’s given Dio with regard to gender, it feels like Nisio’s doing violence to his character.  It’s boring too.  No charisma = not Dio.

Jorge Joestar is pretty awful but at least it doesn’t take itself too seriously like Over Heaven.

Purple Haze Feedback is great, it’s exactly what a side novel should be.  Kohei Kadono

builds off of Vento Aureo and creates something that feels like it could fit in Araki’s world while maintaining its own unique feel.  Definitely worth reading.
